so, Jmal asked Christopher and I if we wanted to go to the Shedd because one of her friends from Michigan is in town, and I guess they wanted to go to the Shedd. we took different trains (with different lines), so they ended up at Ogilivie and Christopher and I ended up at Union. Jmal and Megan, her other friend that tagged along, waited for us for a little, but our train was delayed a little and then we had some crew-change right before we got to Union -_-” so it took us a while to get there.
Christopher and I ended up not going into the Shedd, at all… hahaha, we walked all the way there taking some detours because of the random rain shower, and then decided that we didn’t really want to pay $16 to go into the Shedd.. so, we walked around to the lake front-ish area by Adler and Christopher took some awesome pictures with his wide-angle of the city… man… i LOVE the city. i LOVE LOVE LOVE the city. i can’t wait to go to the city some more! gahhhhhh. i really wish i had a place out there… those condos right by museum campus would be MONEY.
then, we waited for the others to finish @ the Shedd, but Christopher realized that we weren’t even going to go back on the same train, so we decided to head back and get food, but we were walking/skipping (yes, skipping) a bit too slow, so we ended up having to just go straight back to Union.
(now, this is the best part)
we were walking up Madison when it started to rain a little bit, and so I flung my arms out, and I was like “RAIN MORE!” and, after a few seconds, IT STARTED TO RAIN MORE!!!!! I was SO flippin’ excited, but Christopher, on the other hand, was not excited at all… he went, “why, Connie, why???” it actually started raining pretty hard, so we had to take a little break under one of the huge buildings, but then right before we hit the bridge, we just ran for it!
we were running in the rain for a good while, and it was so so so SOOOOOOOO fun. it felt so.. freeing and just.. awesome.. I hope I can do that again sometime… I was really thankful that Christopher had a good attitude about it. I kinda felt bad because he had his camera gear with him in the camera bag, and I didn’t want it to get wet, but.. I think I needed it…
Thank you, Christopher! you’re the best..
afterwards, we got on the train & headed back home. we got some Chipotle, which we both agree wasn’t that great, and then came to my house and ate rainbow sherbet as we watched part of game 2 of the NBA Finals (Lakers v Celtics; YAY Celtics won
103-94) dang. this is an exciting series!

i would absolutely love (is there any word stronger than "love"?) to see this outside my window... so freeing.
if I could make a living from studying and researching the universe, I’d take that job…
