Day 169: CYC in the SIT-E

cyc hangout part II

so, cyc’s hang out last week kinda… didn’t go as planned, so PJ wanted to do something really fun today for the hang out: BIKING AT NAVY PIER

honestly, this totally made my day when i heard that this was what we were gonna do!

sidenote: christopher and i decided to tag along again because we love cyc forreal, we do. well, i do, at least

anyway. yeah, so i was really happy and really surprised that we were gonna go into the city at like 7pm! when we got there, we found out that to ride the quad-cycle-things, you need to be 18 or 18+ or you need to be with a parent/guardian? so.. we ended up not being able to bike around like we wanted to :/ but… i wasn’t too bummed because we were in the city, which i love!

we ended up just eating inside the food court at navy pier and then walking around the actual pier there was a cruise ship called “Kanan” and we were like, ‘hey! it’s for CYC! “Kanan” pronounced “Canaan”!’ haha we had a few good laughs.

cyc actually kinda had some sort of a photo shoot, thanks to christopher and his photog skills. the pictures look really cool from what i saw on his camera. hopefully, they’ll be posted soon.

i really miss cyc.. i know i’ve said that a lot in my past posts, but i’m always reminded of how thankful i really should be for Canaan, CYC, our leaders (past, present, and future), and all the students. man, God worked wonders in me when i was at CYC. i can only imagine what He has in store for these youngins!

so thankful for CYC!!

Day 143: Date with Myself Part II

navy pier ferris wheel; modeled after the first ferris wheel made by george washington ferris (i think)--it was fun!

today, i got a very late start in the day. haha, i got home around 4 in the morning last night, and i didn’t sleep until… 5 or 530 in the morning. i just wasn’t that tired! so, i got out of bed pretty late today, around 1? i ate, downloaded music, then decided to shower and head out! i didn’t get out of the house until 5p, and i didn’t get downtown until around 645p.

i spent the day downtown by myself besides taking the train to chicago, i walked around everywhere! i stopped at argo, got a chocolate chip cookie & carolina honey tea (warm)–it’s GREAT cold and it’s GREAT warm! then, i headed off on my adventure to navy pier. i took a detour on the way there @ forever 21…hehehe. i got a top, skirt, necklace, nail polish, and a ring. i didn’t spend that much money, no worries. then, around 830p, i left forever 21 and continued on my adventure to navy pier!

i walked down ohio, and when i hit lake shore drive (i think that was the road), i couldn’t keep going! haha, so i had to walk a little bit more, but i eventually found my way to navy pier

then….FERRIS WHEEL! they had this recording that told you what you were looking at while you were on the ride, and it said how the Navy Pier ferris wheel was modeled after the first ever ferris wheel made by george washington ferris; however, the first one was over 100feet taller (or something like that). hahaha, that’s all i memorized =b

then after the ride, i walked back to union within about.. 35 minutes! i walked down illinois towards michigan, walked down michigan towards adams, walked down adams until i hit union station. it was a long walk! but i’m a fast walker

"map your run" except.. it was my walk! haha 2.61miles dang. hahaha
